The New England Patriots have won 33 playoffs since Robert Kraft purchased the franchise in 1994. These 33 wins are the third-most among any ownership group in NFL history – and the most since Kraft joined the league.
The Patriots have played a total of 59 playoff games. The upcoming duel is their 60th postseason game, the fifth-most in the NFL, behind Dallas (67), Pittsburgh (65), Green Bay (64) and San Francisco (62).
Head Coach Mike Vrabel is heading to the playoffs for the fourth time as a head coach – and for the third time as a division champion after leading New England to the AFC East title. In his six years as head coach of the Tennessee Titans, he reached the postseason three times, including two division victories. His playoff record: 2-3 (Wild Card 1-1, Divisional 1-1, AFC Championship 0-1).
With a win against the Chargers in the Wild Card Round, the Patriots improve their playoff record against the Bolts to 4-1.
The Patriots’ last playoff participation was the AFC Wild Card game in Buffalo (January 15, 2022). There were six players from the current squad in the squad at the time: DT Christian Barmore, TE Hunter Henry, LB Anfernee Jennings, OL Mike Onwenu, RB Rhamondre Stevenson and LB Jahlani Tavai. Henry started as a tight end; Barmore, Onwenu, Stevenson and Tavai played as rotational forces. Jennings was on injured reserve.
WR Stefon Diggs has played 14 playoff games so far and has 69 receptions (tied for 17th all-time) for 909 yards (24th all-time) and 4 touchdowns. He needs 91 receiving yards to become the 18th NFL player to reach 1,000 postseason yards. With 17 more receptions, he would pass Andre Reed and move into the top 10 for most playoff catches of all time.
Diggs has the most playoff appearances among all Patriots players (14). CB Carlton Davis III follows in second place with 9 postseason games.
