It was eleven years ago that the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks faced each other in the Super Bowl. It was the heyday of Tom Brady, who led his Pats to a 28:24 victory at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Since then, the Patriots have appeared in the NFL finals three more times and won the glorious Vince Lombardi Trophy two more times. For the Seahawks, however, it was the last appearance in the Super Bowl. Only now are they returning after an outstanding season and going into the NFL final as favorites. Will the Seahawks return to Santa Clara against the Patriots eleven years later at Levi’s Stadium?

NFL will remain at home on RTL in 2025
In 2025, the NFL will enter its third season on RTL and, as in the previous two seasons, Sunday evenings on RTL will be all about the NFL. We will show two games live on free TV, one at 7 p.m. and one at 10:25 p.m., another at 7 p.m. will be streamed live on RTL+. All playoff games will then follow LIVE on free TV and on RTL+!
There are also numerous premium matches every season for which RTL has also secured the broadcast rights: this year these included the season opener Cowboys @ Eagles, but also the London Games, the Berlin Game, the Madrid Game and the Dublin Game!
NFL LIVE on RTL on free TV: New talk format “Guten Abend Football” and permanent on-air teams
Since September 2025, NFL Gameday has started at 6:15 p.m. at NITRO with the new live talk format “Guten Abend Football” – the new must-attend event for all NFL fans! Moderator Jan Stecker talks to RTL top experts Patrick Esume and Björn Werner about the highlights of the week.
