It is an event now well established in the Parisian sporting landscape, which promises a spectacular afternoon at the Accor Arena. More than 10,000 spectators are expected from 3 p.m. to attend the first events, before the official launch of the events at 4 p.m. Explosive races, spectacular competitions and entertainment in the stands: all the ingredients will come together to make athletics shine and have a great time with family or friends.
International level athletes
Like every year, the Paris indoor meeting made some nice moves on the casting. Headlining, Italian long jump prodigy Mattia Furlani, double world champion (indoor and outdoor), Olympic bronze medalist and European vice-champion in 2024, will make his winter debut on the Accor Arena track. The opportunity for the young man, only 20 years old, to break his current personal best, amounting to 8.39 m.
Sprinting and hurdles will also be in the spotlight with the presence of the American Alaysha Johnson in the 60m hurdles, world reference in the discipline, and the Luxembourger Patrizia Van der Weken in the 60m, in Olympic form recently.
On the pole vault, the Parisian public will be able to thrill to the flights of the Americans Zach Bradford and KC Lightfoot, both recently credited with jumps of 5.90 m.
French athletics in the spotlight
Beyond foreign athletes, the Paris indoor meeting is also an ideal showcase for French athletics. The Martinican Laëticia Bapté, victorious last year in 7”83 on this same track, will be one of the great tricolor attractions on the hurdles. Around her, several young talents will confirm their rise to power, starting with Erwan Konaté, European long-distance hopeful champion last July.
In the 60m hurdles, Erwann Cinna will try to reach a new milestone against tough competition, while the men’s pole vault will count on Baptiste Thiery and Ethan Cormont to ignite the stands. Among the women, the Northerner Chloé Galet will also have the opportunity to show herself in the 60 m.
