One more point but a lot of disappointment. For its first match of the year at Jean-Bouin, and while it remained on a series of two victories after its successes against PSG in the Coupe de France and on the pitch of FC Nantes in Ligue 1, Paris FC failed to win against Angers this Sunday January 25 (0-0).
Like its draw against Auxerre (1-1) on November 29 or its trip to Le Havre at the beginning of December (0-0), Paris FC has long lacked enthusiasm against an opponent normally within its reach and close in the standings in terms of points. We had to wait a quarter of an hour into the game (12th) to see the Parisians in the Angevin area and four more minutes to hear the spectators present at Jean-Bouin wake up. Following a good combination from midfield between Jean-Philippe Krasso and Ilan Kebbal, the Algerian curled a left-footed shot placed a few centimeters from Hervé Koffi’s post (16th).
Faced with a generally solid Angevin defensive block, Stéphane Gilli’s men had to wait until the start of the second half to finally wrap up the game. And after only three shots in fifty minutes of play, Alimami Gory was finally very close to opening the scoring. Served in depth by Jean-Philippe Krasso, the former Le Havre player pushed the ball from the right but stumbled on the opposing goalkeeper’s post (49th). Three minutes after him, Adama Camara found himself in a striking position but his attempt from the left ended directly in the arms of Koffi (52nd). A sign of the offensive weakness of the two teams, they each only had one shot on target.
Koleosho very close to scoring
However, the situation almost came close to being resolved thanks to the Parisian bench. Left on the bench at the start of the match, Maxime Lopez found his teammates after an hour of play and, as is often the case, touched a lot of balls. Above all, rookie Luca Koleosho, already decisive against Nantes last weekend, once again delivered a convincing performance, fast on his left side. His deep serves sometimes lacked precision but he came close to opening the scoring with a superb right-footed strike (86th), only repelled by the post.
Apart from an attempt by Jim Allevinah (73rd) which hit the crossbar of Kevin Trapp’s goal, the Parisians were generally not worried but they could, once again, harbor regrets. With this result, and while FC Nantes, direct competitor for maintenance, fell heavily against Nice (1-3), Paris FC nevertheless continues its march forward. 14th in the standings, eight points ahead of Auxerre, 17th, the Parisians continue to slowly move away from the red zone.
