Pardubice FC: Mandous & 3 New Signings Boost Squad

Goalkeeper Aleš Mandous transferred from football club Slavia to Pardubice. He signed a contract with the East Bohemian club for two and a half years. On Thursday, Pardubice also announced the arrival of three Czech youth representatives Jiří Hamza, Tobias Boledović and Tomáš Jelínek. They informed about it on their website. All four players already flew to Turkey with the team on Monday.

Thirty-three-year-old Mandous spent the last year on loan in Mladá Boleslav. Before coming to Slavia, with whom he won the domestic cup in 2023, he worked in Olomouc or Žilina, where he won the title. He has so far caught 115 games in the Czech league. He made four starts for the national team.

“Aleš is an experienced goalkeeper with a national team background who can significantly help the team in a difficult period. He brings composure, quality and the ability to organize the defense. We believe that his experience and personality will have a positive effect on the entire team and that he will confirm his qualities in Pardubice.” said sports director of Pardubice Jiří Bílek, who ended up in the same position at Slavia in December.

Mandous has high hopes for his new engagement. “The ambitions of the club have been outlined to me. The goals are high and I like that. I hope that we can fulfill these goals and that we will be where we all want to be.”

From Slavia, Pardubice was also strengthened by defender or midfielder Boledovič and midfielder Jelínek. The former signed a contract with East Bohemia until June 2030, the Praguers have the right to buy back. Boledovič has not started in the league yet. “He is a young, promising and dynamic type of footballer. He is also decorated with a great character. We will want to continue to develop Tobias. I believe that he will do well at our club.” said Bílek.

Jelínek made his debut in the top competition last November, played for Slavia’s A-team twice this season and in the domestic cup and scored on both occasions. He came to Pardubice on a spring loan without an option. “Tomáš is another talented player. At the same time, he has experience from the national team under the age of 21 and from working in Slavia. We believe that he will help us athletically in the spring. In addition, he is a player who can play multiple positions.” stated Bílek.

Defender Hamza transferred from Slovácko and agreed on the same long contract as Boledovič in his new place of work. The son of Jiří Hamza, head of Czech biathlon and vice president of the International Biathlon Union, has played 13 matches in the highest competition so far, and is waiting for his first goal.

“Jiří is a talented left-footed stopper, who is in short supply on the market. He has experience from youth national teams under the age of 21 and great potential for the future. It will certainly increase the competition in our team,” said Bílek.

Coach Jan Trousil’s wards, after a successful end to the autumn, when, among other things, they unexpectedly won 4:2 on Sparta’s field, spend the winter in 11th place in the table. Since August, the club has been owned by the Kaprain investment group of billionaire Karel Pražák.
