Paquetá: First Words After Flamengo Return

Flamengo have re-signed Lucas Paquetá. According to Coluna Do Fla, he marked the homecoming on X, calling it a big day, saying he was finally home and thanking the club.

He arrived in Rio de Janeiro to sign after eight years away. The midfielder touched down to sign his contract.

Supporters gave him a warm airport reception. He sang along, posed for photos, wore a supporters’ group shirt and was moved to tears.

He then headed to his former home, underwent medical tests and signed a five-year deal. He joins Filipe Luís’s squad for the 2026 season.

Flamengo will pay 42 million euros (R$ 260 million) to West Ham for Paquetá. The fee makes it the most expensive signing in Brazilian football at present.

Once the contract is registered in the CBF’s BID, Paquetá will be eligible to play. The club are working to have him available against Corinthians at Mané Garrincha.
