Joel Ordonez was close to a fantastic transfer to Olympique Marseille last summer, but the defender ultimately stayed at Club Brugge. Now the European superpowers are lining up for Ordonez, with Liverpool as the frontrunner.
The English national champion has been mentioned for Ordonez for some time, but the Italian Internazionale is also keeping a close eye on the situation. Now transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri has come up with an update.

Club Brugge crosses fingers
Ordonez still has a contract with Club Brugge until 2029 with a market value of 29 million euros and Blauw-Zwart is aiming for a record amount for the Ecuadorian defender. An amount above 40 million euros is already being discussed.
But for now, Club Brugge can only cross its fingers because, according to Tavolieri, Liverpool’s interest is far from concrete. For the time being, the Reds have only identified Ordonez as an interesting target and put him on a list with several defenders.
Excellent relationship with club
Ordonez is thus appreciated by Liverpool scouts and the Ecuadorian international is on a list of targets, but there is no question of an offer for the time being. Club Brugge can count on an excellent relationship with Liverpool…
🇪🇨 At this moment, there has been no contact between Liverpool and Club Brugge regarding Joel Ordoñez who does appear on a list of defenders appreciated by the scouting department.
