OÖMM Union Ohlsdorf 4 – 2nd Class Match Report

In the upper playoff of the 2nd class, our second team had to narrowly compete away from Union Ohlsdorf 4 after exciting games 3:5 admit defeat.

As always, the doubles games were on the program to start. In the second men’s doubles, Stefan Wellinger and Christian Bauer secured the first point for Wels after a hard-fought three-set match. In the remaining doubles – women’s doubles (Q. Nguyen & L. Fischlhammer) and 1st men’s doubles (M. Lehner & F. Razinger) – we were unfortunately left behind.

Then came the singles. Felix Razinger showed a strong performance in the first men’s singles and confidently took the next point for ABV Wels. After the 2nd men’s singles (Manuel Lehner) and the women’s singles (Laura Fischlhammer) were unfortunately lost, Christian Bauer provided another highlight in the 3rd men’s singles. Our “three-set specialist” once again insisted on getting the maximum playing time and, after an exciting game and three sets, he retained the upper hand.

The final mixed doubles match could have resulted in a draw against the previously unbeaten Ohlsdorfers. Stefan Wellinger and Quynh Nguyen fought hard, but unfortunately it wasn’t quite enough to win in the end.

Before the revenge against Ohlsdorf takes place in March, the next task awaits our 2nd team with the home game against Enns on January 19th. We are already looking forward to the next games!
