OM had achieved a very good coup during the summer of 2020 by securing the services of Pape Gueye from Le Havre. The Senegalese midfielder spent four seasons at Canebière before joining Villarreal, free of any contract. For two seasons in Spain now, Pape Gueye has become a solid player in midfield and is enough to give Marseille leaders some regrets.
