Borussia Mönchengladbach has formalized the return of Jan Olschowsky. The club has decided to end the 24-year-old goalkeeper’s loan to Alemannia Aachen early and repatriate him immediately to Borussia-Park.
Trained in Mönchengladbach, Jan Olschowsky will now rejoin the group of Borussia goalkeepers. Sports director Rouven Schröder explained this choice by highlighting the player’s journey during his time in 3. Liga.
“Jan, who trained with us, now gets another chance to prove himself within the goalkeeper group of his training club. His loan to Aachen went well. For more than a year, he was a reliable starter and developed both sportingly and personally”
At Alemannia Aachen, Olschowsky established himself as a stable and regular player. His status as a long-term starter has allowed him to accumulate playing time and maturity, a period considered formative by Borussia’s management before this anticipated return.
The main party did not hide his emotion when returning to Mönchengladbach. “It feels like coming home.” The period spent in Aachen was very important for my development. Now I want to make my contribution to the success of Borussia”confided the goalkeeper.
With this return, Borussia Mönchengladbach strengthens its goalkeeping sector in a context marked by the departure on loan of Jonas Omlin to Bayer Leverkusen.
