LIESHOUT – As the first activity in the new year, Badminton Club Lieshout organizes its traditional New Year’s drinks. During the drinks we will look back on the past year and especially toast the new year. Naturally, there will be plenty of opportunity to convey best wishes to each other and the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ will also be announced.
The New Year’s drinks are one of the annual activities on the Badminton Club Lieshout calendar. This year too, the board has chosen to hold the (alcohol-free) drinks at the end of the playing time for the youth and the start of the playing time for the seniors. By choosing this intermediate time, all members can really join in. This allows the youth to do their own activity beforehand and the seniors to play some badminton after the drinks.
The drinks are also used by the association to announce the ‘Volunteer of the Year’. An honorary title that is awarded every year to one specific volunteer who has made an extra effort to make a positive contribution to the association. Last year, this honor was given to Niels Dirven because of his tireless efforts to produce a beautiful club magazine every two months for more than 25 years.
The next activity will take place at Badminton Club Lieshout on January 23. This time only for the seniors. The association will then hold an evening with PubQuiz in the canteen of their home base: the Klumper sports hall. From 8 p.m., participants can join teams for a fun evening and prepare for fun, interesting and unexpected questions about the calendar year 2025.
