Polch. The members of the badminton department traditionally met at the end of last year and at the beginning of the new year and experienced two entertaining events together.
Shortly before Christmas, the annual ribbon tournament was on the program. The tournament was very well attended with 25 participants. The extensive buffet of food brought by the participants contributed to the good atmosphere. Friends of players from the clubs TuS Kehrig and TSV Emmelshausen were also invited. Only doubles were played in constantly changing line-ups, so that not only players from the different clubs were mixed, but also men and women. In the end, Ralf Sauerborn took first place in the table with the most games won.
In the badminton department of TG Polch it is a good tradition that not only the first place winners are honored. The last place and the best lady also received an “award”.
At the beginning of the new year, the members of the department took part in sporting activities in a different environment. After eating together, they occupied three bowling alleys and competed with the other visitors in “disco bowling” to throw the most strikes. The bowling king among the badminton players was quickly found after Ralph Lenk cleared the left and right outer pins with a throw.
All in all, everyone had a great time. It was a successful start to the new badminton year, which, in addition to the 4th Maifeld Cup in June, offers all sorts of challenges.
After a shared meal, three bowling alleys were occupied.
