Neptune City History: Events & The Landing Anniversary

Neptune if you prepare celebrate a moment of collective memory with “The Landing in Nettuno”, the official event dedicated to the 82nd Anniversary of the Allied Landing, scheduled between 22 and 25 January.

After the institutional ceremonies of January 22nd we enter the heart of the historical reenactmentcon cultural, educational and sporting initiatives in the area.

It is scheduled for Saturday 24 January at 10am the opening of the “Angela Camp” base camp at the Salus beach at the Sanctuary of Nettuno. It will be open from 10am to 4pm the military-themed Sports Area at Piazza San Rocco curated by MaxLab.

From 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 6pm it will be possible to visit the Photographic Exhibition – The face of war: Drawings of a Native American soldier in Italy. With screenings and documentaries on the Allied Landing.

At 10.30 you can admire it in the streets of the centre the historical vehicle parade on a route that connects Nettuno with Anzio. The event is scheduled for Saturday at 11am laying of a wreath at the Monument of the Fallen of the 3rd Infantry Division Bosco di Foglino, on via Acciarella. All 2.30pm Glory to the Fallen. Peace march from the War Memorial in Piazza Battisti with the lighting of the brazier on the beach.

Sunday 25 January always at 10am The “Angela Camp” base camp opens, with the display of historic vehicles. The military-themed Sports Area in Piazza San Rocco will also be open, curated by MaxLab, available from 10am to 3pm. At 10am there will be a baseball performance and the photographic exhibition in the council chamber will be available at the same times as on Saturday. From 1pm to 3.30pm there will be a swing concert with the Swig lab dance troupe.
