Era of ‘Premium Shortform’ for global fan community begins… Cinematic aesthetics promised
◆ High-quality short-form dramas featuring K-POP artists TakeOneCompany presents a new kind of short-form platform starring K-POP artists. TakeOneCompany announced on the 2nd that the global K-POP shortform platform ‘KITZ’ will be officially launched on January 16th.
‘KITZ’ is an acronym for ‘Kinema Shortz’ and aims to provide premium shortform content with cinematic aesthetics and solid storytelling. Unlike previous delightful and light short-form dramas, it plans to bring deep immersion and new experiences to global fans through works involving the country’s top production staff and starring K-POP artists themselves.
◆ ‘WindUp’ starring NCT Jeno and Jaemin as the starting work The first premium shortform drama to be released with the launch of the service is 〈WindUp〉, which stars NCT’s Jeno and Jaemin. Co-produced by TakeOneStudio and SM Entertainment, this work is a sports growth drama that depicts the sparkling and pure friendship between a high school baseball pitcher who can’t throw a strike and a new student who poses as his manager. Director Kim Seong-ho, who has been recognized for his fine direction in the Netflix series 〈Move to Heaven: I am an Inheritance Manager〉 and KBS2 〈Jin Geom Seungbu〉, takes the helm and raises expectations.
◆ Shiny cast and improve global usability In addition to 〈WindUp〉, various other works are also being planned. The short-form drama starring the iconic Joo Jun-hoe, “Will You Work Overtime?”, as well as “Sony’s Competition,” in which Cha Sun-woo and SF9 Joo-ho collaborate, are also available. In addition, various genres of content such as the human SF 〈Jumpboy LIVE〉, the interactive drama 〈Kill the Romeo〉 and the fake documentary sitcom 〈The CEO is Lonely〉 will be released one after another in the first quarter.
KITZ supports a total of 11 languages including Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese to serve the global fan community. The billing model will be adapted to the characteristics of short-form dramas, with some episodes being offered for free and the later episodes being able to be enjoyed through paid payments or watching advertisements in the hybrid format.
