NBA Playoffs: Memphis Shocks San Antonio – Lakers & Timberwolves Advance

Victor Wembanyama made a convincing comeback from his knee injury suffered on New Year’s Eve, scoring 30 points in just 21 minutes off the bench. Despite his performance, the Spurs were overwhelmed in the final seconds and lost 106-105 to the Grizzlies.

San Antonio got off to a thunderous start thanks to 15 points from Julian Champagnie, including four three-pointers in the first quarter. Memphis fought back with 36 points in the third quarter, taking a slight lead to 82-81. Cam Spencer then scored six consecutive points to give the Grizzlies their largest lead (88-81), before San Antonio got back in front 105-101. Spencer finally sealed the victory with five straight points in the final minute. Wembanyama was taken off as a precaution 3 minutes 45 from time.

“Tonight we fought until the end,” said Spencer, who scored 21 points, like his teammate Jaren Jackson Jr.
