Basketball superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the NBA champions Oklahoma City Thunder to a clear 119:98 win against their feared opponents, the San Antonio Spurs. The 27-year-old Canadian scored 34 points in the top duel in the North American professional league against the team from Texas. Spurs star Victor Wembanyama, on the other hand, only managed 17 points.
For the City Thunder it was their first win against San Antonio in their fourth attempt this season. Oklahoma was still missing German center Isaiah Hartenstein, who had a calf injury.
After the success, the champions from Oklahoma remain at the top of the Western Conference with a comfortable lead over the Spurs. It was the Thunder’s 34th win of the season – with only seven defeats.
