The event was held on this day with the attendance of all 42 leaders and athletes from Mungyeong City Hall’s professional athletes, and a total of 9 new athletes, including 3 soft tennis players, 2 track and field athletes, and 4 wrestling athletes, received appointment letters and stood at the new starting line in the name of Mungyeong City.

The new players who received the letters of appointment engraved in their hearts a sense of pride and responsibility as members of the Mungyeong City Hall business team, and pledged with one voice that they would definitely win the various domestic and international competitions they will participate in this year. In particular, they expressed their strong will, saying, “We will put our all into each and every training to raise the honor of Mungyeong City.”

This appointment is more meaningful in that it is not a simple recruitment of players, but a strategic choice for the future of Mungyeong Sports.

First of all, this year, we plan to do our best to provide systematic training and strengthen international competitiveness toward the mid- to long-term goal of participating in the “20th Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games” scheduled to be held in Japan in September.

Mungyeong City has been increasing the competitiveness of its professional athletes through continuous interest and training support, and plans to further solidify its status as a sports city with a view not only to the national stage but also to the Asian stage based on its expanded player base through the recruitment of new players.

Mungyeong Mayor Shin Hyeon-guk said, “The professional team is the pride and hope of Mungyeong citizens, and every drop of sweat the players shed will eventually lead to achievements that will brighten the name of Mungyeong.” He added, “I hope that you will continue to challenge without wavering toward the bigger stage of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan, and we will continue to provide generous support to the players so that they can demonstrate their best skills.”
