Mexican archery continues to make history and makes an appearance in the World Archery Awards 2025 with three nominations, which are a reflection of the growth that this discipline has had in the country.
The new generation of archers has been pushing forward, following the legacy of experienced athletes like Aida Roman, Mariana Avitia y Alejandra Valencia. Despite not receiving the same spotlight as other sports, Mexico continues to stand out year after year in international competitions.

Last year was an extremely important year for the archery in Mexico with participations in both world championships as well as in the World Games from Chengdu. Part of the success of the archers is the training and that is why the coaches are also part of this gala.
Below we present the list of mexicans who are nominated:
- Andrea Becerra and Mariana Bernal (Goalkeeper of the Year)
- Karen Montellano (Coach of the Year)
- Andrea Becerra, Mariana Bernal and Adriana Castillo (best team of the year)
All the athletes mentioned above are in the compound archery category, an event that will make its debut in the Olympics of Los Angeles 2028 in the mixed team modality.
Fans from all over the world will be able to vote through the official World Archery website, where they can only vote for the best archer of the year, while a panel of judges will award the rest of the categories:

- event of the year
Voting will be open until midnight on February 13 and the winners will be announced at a ceremony at the end of the month.

Karen Montellano She has 13 years of experience as an archery coach and has been directing the team for five years. University of Guadalajara (UDG), in addition to directing athletes such as Andrea Becerra.
Her career as an archer began at the age of 7, but an injury forced her to retire prematurely. In an interview with the UDG, she recalled that from that moment on she was invited to be an assistant coach in the National Olympiadwhere his good results earned him the opportunity to direct the Jalisco selection.
Over the years, he mentioned that he went through different categories until finally reaching the highest point in the Lima 2019 Pan American Gamesan event that opened the doors for him to direct multiple archers of the national team in later periods.
Regarding the current situation of sport in Mexico, he commented that the compound archery is in the best moment in its history with great results in 2025 and the fact that this modality is Olympic in Los Angeles 2028 It is an important incentive to continue making history.
