Three weeks after being a victim of the fire that devastated the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana, Tahirys Dos Santos assured via social networks that he was feeling better.
Tahirys Dos Santos gave reassuring news. On December 31, the young FC Metz defender was in Crans-Montana to celebrate the new year in the bar “Le Constellation”. An establishment which caught fire that evening, causing several dozen victims. The 19-year-old did not hesitate to face the flames to save his girlfriend but he did not emerge unscathed. He was treated for a while in Germany, in a hospital in Stuttgart specializing in the treatment of burn victims, but has since been repatriated to Metz. While the treatment continues its course, Tahirys Dos Santos confided through a message published on the social network Instagram that he is “better” but remains lucid about his convalescence.
Dos Santos: “I look ahead”
Indeed, he assures that “the road will still be long” before resuming the course of his career but he does not intend to give up “after difficult weeks”. “I look ahead, with confidence and determination,” says Tahirys Dos Santos. Sending his thanks “to all those who supported (him), the young trainee player at FC Metz assures that “the future awaits (him)”. Regarding the treatment of his burns, he confided that he had recently undergone “a transplant”. A message that the player’s agent Christophe Hutteau did not fail to convey this Friday evening before sharing a few additional elements.
Hutteau: “He will return to the field”
He thus confirms that Tahirys Dos Santos “is still hospitalized in the burn center of the Mercy hospital in Metz” while his skin was 30% burned in the “Constellation” fire on December 31, but that he keeps the desire to live a professional career in football. “He wanted to share with you his fight and his hopes,” adds Christophe Hutteau in his message on social networks. The road will be long but he will return to the fields and the professionalism of football with FC Metz. » Words which echo those of his trainer Abasse Ba, who confided last weekend that “Tahirys Dos Santos’ morale is good”.
