Mert Hakan Yandaş, who was arrested within the scope of the football betting investigation, sent a new year message to the Fenerbahçe community with a letter he wrote from prison.
Fenerbahçe’s football player Mert Hakan Yandaş, who was arrested in the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding allegations of betting and match-fixing in football, was arrested and sent to Marmara Prison in Silivri.
Mert Hakan Yandaş, the captain of the yellow-dark blue team, who continues to be detained, sent a new year message to the Fenerbahçe community with a letter he wrote from prison.

First of all, I wish everyone a happy new year. Even though I am saddened by entering the new year away from my family, I sincerely hope that you and your family will spend a year full of love, peace and health.
I would like you to know that I received your support and nice feedback after the letter I sent recently, and knowing that you stood behind me and did not leave me unattended gave me great strength. Life reminded me once again how important togetherness is here too. We joined forces with my brothers, with whom we were rivals outside, and shared a piece of dry bread and water from the same bottle. Metehan, one of these brothers of mine, and I experienced the terrible environment of uncertainty for three endless days. My Yunus, my Apo, my Orkun and my young, clean brothers aged 18-20. While we only saw ourselves as rivals and were perhaps angry at each other, we saw that life made us capable of doing anything for each other. Now, with our unity of destiny, we are going through these difficult days by hugging our wounds and we will come out of here much stronger because we all have a very clear conscience and our heads held high.
