Inter and Napoli settled on Sunday in a summit meeting, where the Milan team had a chance to extend their league lead in Serie A.
It started well for Inter with a lead goal already in the ninth minute by Federico Dimarco, but then Scotsman Scott McTominay equalized for Napoli to 1-1 and level at half-time in Milan.
In the second half it heated up even more.
Amir Rrahmani brought down Henrich Mchitarjan in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty for Inter. This in turn caused Napoli coach Antonio Conte to react forcefully on the side of the field and subsequently received a red card. Turk Hakan Calhanoglu was in turn cool and gave Inter the lead to 2-1.
Inter then and there looked to salvage an important three-pointer, but in the 81st minute McTominay became a two-goal scorer for the final score 2-2.
Inter top the table with three points down on Milan in second place in Serie A. Napoli are in third place and four points up on Inter.
