Transfer surprise in the Hamburg Oberliga: Former national player Max Kruse is moving to TuS Dassendorf. The 37-year-old and his future teammate Martin Harnik (38) are united by their shared past in the youth of SC Vier- und Marschlande. Now the two ex-professionals are back on the pitch together.

Most recently, Kruse played for the Berlin club BSV Dersim II – what and whether things will continue for him there, Kruse says he wants to announce shortly. “The idea of returning to Hamburg has actually been around since the end of my active professional career. I’m all the more pleased that it has finally worked out almost three years later. With TuS Dassendorf, I absolutely chose the right address. My father grew up and went to school in Dassendorf, and I myself come from the neighboring town. I’m looking forward to really great league games in Hamburg. I’m particularly looking forward to the team and hope that I can help the boys so that we can get to the top together “I’m really looking forward to playing with Martin again. It will definitely be a highlight,” explained the offensive man.

Sports director Hakan Karadiken said: “I’m very pleased that we were able to win a player like Max for us. Max doesn’t come to us because of a name or attention, but because he has a passion for football and wants to help the team. It was important to us from the start that everything was calm, helpful to the team and professional. This is exactly the attitude that Max brings with him. The focus is clearly on sports. Max will be gradually integrated into our team through training and should bring in his experience both on and off the pitch. For For us, this commitment is also a positive signal beyond the sporting area. We want to use the increased attention to develop our club sustainably – always with the team and football at the center.
