Stefan Ortega has spent this season training quietly but not being in contention for a spot in the City matchday squad. Ortega is far too good a keeper to spend his time in purgatory, so to speak. A new report has emerged that Nottingham Forest are eager to sign Stefan Ortega. That would be the perfect move for the German goalkeeper to play on a regular basis.
Florian Plettenberg has reported on X that Stefan Ortega has reached a verbal agreement with Nottingham Forest. Furthermore, Plettenberg reports that Nottingham Forest are hoping to find an agreement to sign Ortega from Manchester City imminently.

Stefan Ortega needs a move for his career.
It has been sad to see Stefan Ortega fall completely off the map at Manchester City. His contribution to the club has been immense, but it must also be said that Ortega, the German goalkeeper, chose to remain at City knowing the changes that were occurring in goal at the club. Even having said that, Ortega was crucial to Manchester City’s success during his time at the club. The German goalkeeper needs a move to re-establish himself as a top goalkeeper.
A move to a club like Nottingham Forest may provide Stefan Ortega with the platform to do so. Sean Dyche’s side are in a scrap to fight for Premier League survival. Signing a keeper like Stefan Ortega may aid their cause on this front. For Ortega, he could quickly become Forest’s number-one goalkeeper given his talent and pedigree. Hopefully, a move comes together for Stefan Ortega’s sake.
Stefan Ortega is seemingly eager to join Nottingham Forest. It would be nice to see the move come together so a key contributor in Manchester City’s recent success can play on a regular basis.
