Donyell Malen is a player for AS Roma. Malen switched from Aston Villa to AS Roma. The 26-year-old attacker and former PSV player will initially be loaned to the Italian club for half a season, which will take him over permanently when he is qualified for European football.
That will normally work. As Roma is currently number five in the Italian league, seven points behind leaders Internazionale. It is expected that the Romans will qualify for a European tournament. In that case, they will take over Malen for 25 million euros and there appears to be a significant amount left for PSV.
Malen, who has played 49 international matches so far in which he scored thirteen times, was not assured of a starting place at Aston Villa. He played in almost every game this season, but almost always as a substitute. In Rome there is more perspective given the injuries in the vanguard.
