Footballers are regularly targets of burglars. These do not only infiltrate stars or players with established careers. Two young players from Olympique Lyonnais had the bitter experience of this on Tuesday evening in Meyzieu. Two individuals were arrested for breaking into the apartment of young players aged 18 and 19, according to information from Progrès which we are able to confirm.
According to a police source, one of the two footballers dialed 17 while his home was being burglarized by two criminals. It only took a few minutes for the police to intervene and arrest the two hooded people. The thieves tried to flee, but they were taken into custody, available to investigators.
A console and a jersey
In their gear: a crowbar. Before the police arrived, they had stolen iPads, a phone, a games console and sports equipment, such as an OL jersey and shorts. The two individuals did not look at this apartment at random. They claimed to have been informed by “big people in the neighborhood” that valuables and money could be found in this residence.
They had specifically chosen this date because of the concert being held at the LDLC Arena, hoping that law enforcement would be mobilized to the event and would not be able to intervene quickly enough.
