Copa Sonora Outdoor 2026 Hits Hermosillo Nov 13-15

Archers from across Sonora and neighboring states will gather in Hermosillo this November for the second edition of the Copa Sonora Outdoor 2026, El Imparcial reported. The tournament is scheduled to run from November 13 to November 15 at the “Alejandra Valencia Trujillo” archery field, located at the Centro de Usos Múltiples (CUM).

Tournament organizers announce Hermosillo dates and divisions

Organizers formally announced the competition during a press conference in Hermosillo. José Carlos González, representing the club Arqueros de Desierto, joined Ernesto Ortiz and Codeson coach Belisario Moreno to unveil the plans for the three-day outdoor event.

The competition is structured to welcome participants across a wide span of age groups and experience levels. Divisions for the tournament range from Novato 1 and Novato 2, through Sub-11, Sub-13, Pines, Sub-15, Sub-18, and Sub-21, up to the Mayores adult category.

In this second edition we want to make this entire new archery community see that there is archery for everyone, from children who come with the illusion of shooting with a bow to those like me, for whom this is not our first rodeo, Moreno said during the presentation.

Novice competitors must demonstrate the ability to shoot accurately across distances of 20 to 30 meters, while experienced archers will compete at the standard distances designated for their respective categories.

Registration fees and entry deadlines for Sonora competitors

Registration costs vary depending on the competitor’s age category and the date of enrollment. For divisions ranging from Novato 1 through Sub-13, entry fees are set at 500 pesos for registrations completed by October 30, increasing to 600 pesos for sign-ups submitted between October 31 and November 6.

For participants entering the Pines through Mayores categories, registration fees are 1,000 pesos until the early deadline, and 1,200 pesos thereafter. Competitors seeking further details regarding registration procedures or event schedules can contact organizers directly at the phone number 662 193 0353 or follow updates through the social media accounts of “Copa Sonora” and “Arqueros del Desierto.”
