Of DANILO SANGUINETI
The Pro Recco Judo she got big. It now participates in the various national competitions no longer as an outsider but as one of the clubs to take into consideration when drawing up predictions. In the finale of 2025 the successes even multiplied. And there are all the conditions for the triumphal series to continue in the new year.
At the end of November the “Criterium of the Trevigiana Marca” took place at the Palacicogna in Ponzano Veneto, a youth event reserved for the Cadet category. They participated for Pro Recco Judo Riccardo Norbiatoranked seventh, Gaia Manciniranked fifth, and Costanza Tassinariranked third.
Also at the end of November in Arenzano the club won the regional championships. And in society they can proudly claim the constancy of dominance: “We are regional champions for the twelfth consecutive year. On this occasion the rank of 4th dan for sporting merits was recognized by the federation Angelo Mancioppiour national coach and referee but above all one of the first athletes to win on the national field with our colours”.
At the same time the Italian Absolute A2 Championship was taking place in Follonica: Giorgia Piaggio she achieved a fifth place which earned her qualification for the A1 finals in mid-December.
Italian finals that led to a historic podium. The 2025 Italian Judo Championships, hosted by the “Pala Pellicone” in Ostia (RM), saw 237 athletes competing. Great result for Lorenzo Parodi who confirms himself as one of the strongest athletes of the lot.
“True, it is the fourth consecutive medal for Lorenzo in the top Italian competition. New weight category, same successes: Parodi has thus begun a journey in the 90kg which could take him even higher. Fifth place and some regrets for Giorgia Piaggio and Mattia Atzori. Giorgia, in her first overall, narrowly missed the medal, after leading the final for a long time. Mattia, after losing the first match, wins two recoveries and is then beaten in the final by an athlete from the Fiamme Gialle. Seventh place for Matteo Rovegno e Simone Casareto: they saw their access to the bronze final slip away in the last recovery match”. A real disappointment which, however, should not discourage these Recchelini athletes given the clear progress made in the last season. “In addition to Lorenzo’s medal, it is necessary to celebrate the team’s result. A series of top placings that demonstrate the quality of our senior group.”
