Liverpool have reached an agreement with Austria Vienna for the transfer of Ifeanyi Ndukwe. This young 17-year-old talent will join England next summer.
The information was relayed by The Athletic and the Austrian daily Kurier. Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed this.
Ndukwe will join Anfield after turning 18
According to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer is now finalized. Liverpool will pay several million pounds and Ndukwe will join Anfield in July 2026.
This transfer will only be possible after his eighteenth birthday. Since Brexit, foreign players are only allowed to sign in the UK after reaching the age of 18.
Liverpool’s plan for Ndukwe
Ndukwe will start for Liverpool’s under-21 team. But the club sees him as a potential player for the first team.
Austria Vienna will benefit from much-needed revenue from this sale. The latter sees it as a model for the training of his future talents.
Ndukwe impressed at the U17 World Cup
Ndukwe distinguished himself during the U17 World Cup. He reached the final with Austria as a starter.
At 1.98 meters tall, he has impressive physical strength and a mature game. The crack attracted the attention of recruiters from the biggest European clubs.
Inter had already made an offer for the defender, but Ndukwe extended his contract until 2028. He deliberately chose to continue his progress at Austria Vienna.
