After three weeks of fierce battles and shows, this Saturday January 3 marks the end of the World Darts Championships in London. In front of 5,000 spectators at Alexandra Palace, the Englishman Luke Littler and the Dutchman Gian Van Veen will compete for the supreme title and the million pounds sterling promised to the winner.
The Englishman is the big favorite. Holding the title at just 18 years old, the world No. 1 did not worry once in the competition and even lost only three short sets in six matches. A demonstration that he hopes to conclude against the man who was his opponent in the final of the Junior Worlds two years ago.
10th seed, Gian Van Veen (23) was perhaps not expected at this level this year. But the Dutchman showed exceptional mastery to overcome world 2 Luke Humphries and legend Gary Anderson this Friday in the semi-final.
The World Darts final between Luke Littler and Gian Van Veen can be followed this Saturday from 9 p.m. live on La Chaîne L’Équipe.
