The Olympia gymnasium will host the departmental archery championship on Sunday January 25.
It is in the Olympia gymnasium that the city’s Archers club will host the departmental archery championship. This competition is organized by the departmental archery committee (chaired by Catherine Simon).
This event promises to be a real spectacle for archery enthusiasts and precision sports enthusiasts. “We are delighted to host this championship because it is a unique opportunity to promote archery and share our passion for archery”declared the president, Cécile Crompton. Around 70 Aude archers, including Limoux archers, will compete in three categories: recurve bow, compound bow and bare bow, in order to obtain the title of Aude Archery Champion in each category.
60 arrows over 18 meters
In the morning, archers will shoot 60 arrows over a distance of 18 meters to establish their qualifying score. Depending on their age, the size of the target face will be adapted. The final phases will take place in the afternoon. Depending on the results of the morning’s qualifying shoot, archers will be ranked and compete in knockout duels.
Archery, a sport combining concentration, precision and technique, attracts more and more practitioners and spectators in France and around the world. See you on Sunday January 25 at the Olympia gymnasium, (free entry), to experience a day rich in emotions and sporting performances! A snack and refreshment point will be available.
