Tübingen (pm/pf) – The 14th Tübingen Attempto tournament took place in the Württemberg Judo Association on Sunday. The organizing club JSV Tübingen ensured everything went smoothly without long waiting times. Christian Krüger started for the 1st Fulda Judo Club.
13 fighters competed in Krüger’s weight class -66 kilograms – the fight was based on a list of 16. In the first fight it was against David Behrendt from TSV Erbach and Krüger surprised with a feint and then attacked with his special technique. This was successful and his first victory was secured after 13 seconds. A successful start. Then it was against Christian Krauß from TV Cannstatt. Although the Cannstatter had an unpleasant grip on his neck, the Fulda man always freed himself and scored several times. After three minutes of fighting, one Waza-ari and two Yuko scores were on the scoreboard. before Krüger ended the fight with Ippon for Harai-goshi.
So the semi-finals were reached and there it was against David Widmann. For him it was a home game and he was cheered on by his Tübingen club mates. Christian Krüger remained unimpressed and scored a Yuko score for Tai-otoshi after a minute. Even after that, the fight remained even. But Krüger couldn’t rest on his narrow lead and scored a Waza-ari score for Seoi-otoshi 30 seconds before the end of the fight time. He safely defended his lead for the remaining seconds.
In the final it was against Leon Koch from MTV Ludwigsburg. However, Krüger was unable to build on his previous strong performance and lost with the second Waza-ari rating after one minute.
As the only non-Württemberg native in the field, Christian Krüger was still happy about second place – things can continue like this for the Gieseler in 2026.
