Despite a solid season record, there is unrest among the Los Angeles Lakers – and suddenly superstar LeBron James is becoming the focus of trade speculation.
According to NBA insider Bill Simmons, a trade that would send LeBron to the Golden State Warriors could shake up the league.
Simmons suggested a scenario in his podcast that immediately caused a stir: Jimmy Butler could move to the Lakers in return.
“LeBron alongside Stephen Curry could immediately bring new dynamism to Golden State,” explained Simmons.
At the same time, Butler could “give the Lakers stability with defense, toughness and mentality,” especially alongside young stars like Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

For the Warriors, LeBron James would complement Curry and represent an almost unbeatable attacking package and open up additional tactical options.
It is unclear whether such a mega-trade will actually occur.
