LeBron James: New NBA Scoring Record | Kareem Surpassed

James scored 31 points against the Grizzlies, now holding the league record for most points by a 41-year-old. The previous record belonged to Kareem for almost 40 years, who put up 25 points in 1988. James celebrated his 41st birthday on December 30 last year.

“He was phenomenal. There were a few phases where they started runs and his reaction to that… It almost felt like every time we needed a basket, he scored one just through his will. Whether he went to the basket, went into the zone or finished under the basket, he was simply outstanding tonight,” his coach JJ Redick also praised his superstar’s performance.
