Lazkao Archery: Euskadi Championship 2024

The Joxemiel Barandiaran sports center will be the setting tomorrow for the XXXV Euskadi Indoor Archery Championship, an event reference sports event that will bring together male and female archers from different categories in an intense day of competition that will take place in two shifts, morning and afternoon.

The championship, organized by the Guipuzcoan and Basque archery federations together with the host club, will be held in a single day and will have a total of 25 parapets, which will allow the fluid development of the different planned events and a fluid pace of the events. The competition will take place entirely inside the sports center, thus guaranteeing the optimal conditions typical of the indoor modality.

The day will begin first thing in the morning with the shift dedicated to the traditional bow, longbow and naked bow modalities. The opening of the facility is scheduled at 8:00 a.m., while practices will begin around 8:45 a.m. Next, the qualification series will be played, followed by the individual elimination rounds and the subsequent presentation of trophies to the winners of the day. In this round, archers from the senior category will compete, both in the male and female categories.

More bow in the afternoon

In the afternoon the second round of the championship will be held, focused on the recurve bow and compound bow modalities. Doors will open at 2:00 p.m., at which time official practices will also begin. After the qualification series, the team and individual qualifiers will take place, ending the day with the presentation of trophies. Athletes from the senior, sub-21 and sub-18 categories, in the male and female categories, will participate in this shift.

The XXXV Euskadi Indoor Archery Championship turns Lazkao into a meeting point for Basque archery, consolidating the municipality as a reference place for high-level competitions. The organization has indicated that the detailed schedule of the tests will be confirmed once the registration period closes and that the development of the championship will comply with current federal regulations, with the aim of holding a high-level competition.

The organization wanted to invite citizens to come and enjoy this activity on a day of celebration like the ‘Astotxo Eguna’ that arrives in the town tomorrow. They hope that the neighbors respond and come to enjoy the sport in a great atmosphere.
