Latvia Handball: Euro Championship Qualification Secured

The Latvian national team beat the British handball players 40:25 (18:11) in the return match of the pre-qualification and won 75:52 in the sum of two matches.

Valdis Kalniņš was the most productive for the Latvians with ten goals, who made 12 shots on goal, Mārtiņš Misulis made seven out of eight shots, but Richards Juzup was accurate in all five shots.

Francisco Pereira and Louis Daniel Christie each scored seven goals for Great Britain.

In the game played in Nottingham on Wednesday, the Latvian national team was superior with 35:27.

The head coach of the Latvian national team, Margots Valkovskis, has included 19 players in the list of candidates, nine of whom play in foreign clubs. Dainis Krištopāns did not help the Latvian national team in the away match, who only played in the return match.

Due to injuries, Jānis Pavels Valkovskis, Nikita Pančenko, Artūrs Kugis, Andis Bors, Renārs GrebeĆnikovs, Nils Kreutzbergs, Intars Jomants, Raivis Gorbunovs and Elgar Kushners did not join the national team in this meeting.
