According to Hans Kraay junior, Ajax must quickly work on a new left back. Lucas Rosa has been forced to play as a left wing-back in recent weeks, but according to the analyst, he is inadequate in that role. According to Kraay, the solution is close to home.
“Please get a new left back from Ajax,” Kraay said in his Wednesday column Football International. That position is currently filled by Rosa, someone who does not think highly of Kraay. “The right-footed Rosa is really unworthy of Ajax as a left back.”
Kraay sees the ideal successor walking around on the Dutch fields. “Just pick up Souffian El Karouani at FC Utrecht. He lives around the corner, plays football around the corner and then you have a modern Tagliafico for a few million. That will benefit your team enormously,” said the analyst.
It’s no secret that El Karouani is hoping to make a move this winter after failing last summer. Then Spartak Moscow was prepared to go far, but Utrecht decided not to do business with the Russians. The 25-year-old El Karouani is one of the trendsetters in the Cathedral City this season. In sixteen Eredivisie appearances he was good for nine assists.
