A departure from Mohamed Guindo had been in the air for several days. It has now been made official.
A few days ago, we spoke to you about the possibility of seeing Mohamed Guindo leave the RAAL. The 22-year-old striker started the season as a starter but was slowed down by the arrivals of Jerry Afriyie, Pape Fall and Oucasse Mendy in his position. He has yet to score a single goal this season.
Even if Frédéric Taquin plays with two advanced attackers and started Guindo against Club Brugge (a first since the sixth day), seeing the player leave to seek more playing time elsewhere was more and more likely.
Last season, Guindo played a significant role in the rise of the Wolves, with 8 goals and 3 assists in D1B. To regain the possibility of continuing the meeting, the 22-year-old Malian opted for a loan.
Finding your way to the goal in France
The one who had trained at Anderlecht until he was 19 will continue the season at Clermont, in the French second division. No purchase option has been negotiated, so he will return to the RAAL to live out his last year of contract next season.
In the meantime, he must lend a hand to the twelfth in Ligue 2: “I am here to help the club achieve the objectives of the season. I am someone who only lives for goals, while remaining at the service of the team, but I am here to score goals”, he introduces himself in the official press release. This is the second departure for the Wolves in this transfer window, after that of Lucas Bretelle at Le Mans.
