After 1976, 1996 and 2002, Klagenfurt is the venue for the Austrian State Championships for the fourth time. There are 95 participants from all over Austria.

Yesterday (January 30, 2026) the 69th Badminton State Championships were opened in the St. Ruprecht ball game hall by State Governor Peter Kaiser. Austria’s badminton leaders are still fighting for the title until tomorrow. There are 95 participants from all over Austria. With the cancellation the ASKÖ kelag Carinthia entrusted.

The state governor warmly welcomed all participants. He was particularly pleased about the presence of many young people who will see good sport here. Badminton, which is an Olympic discipline, is a sport with a future and great youth work. “The sport of badminton is a combination of head, eyes, strength, technique and the joy of running.” He thanked everyone responsible for making the state championships possible: “The awarding of the state championships to Carinthia shows once again the importance and excellent reputation that the sports region of Carinthia has earned as a host far beyond the borders of our federal state.”
