Ken Uesugi will take over as the new coach of Tokyo Polytechnic University (President: Hiroaki Yoshino, location: Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture, hereafter referred to as the university) hardball baseball club from 2026.

Ken Uesugi, who has been active in the Tokyo Six Universities baseball team and corporate baseball team, will be appointed as the 2026 manager of our university’s baseball team, which belongs to the Kanagawa University Baseball Federation.
Mr. Uesugi is from Nagano Prefecture, and after graduating from Nagano Prefectural Matsumoto Fukashi High School, he joined Waseda University’s baseball team. He played an active role as a member of the 1990 Spring League championship of the Tokyo Six University Baseball League, and was the top batter and top nine player that year.
After graduating from university, I joined Recruit Co., Ltd. and was a member of Recruit Co., Ltd.’s adult baseball team for six years. After that, he transferred to Lawson Co., Ltd.’s baseball club and has been active as a player for six years.
Currently, he has established GutsCareerSupport Co., Ltd., and works on career education for high school students and improving their competitive abilities, as well as providing commentary and commentary at prefectural high school baseball tournaments and other events.
Mr. Uesugi says of his appointment as the university’s manager, “What I want most from our students is for them to acquire the skills needed as members of society (cooperation, self-management skills, etc.), realize their own strengths, and enrich their futures.Through baseball, which has many elements for that purpose, I aim to improve their baseball technical skills and team strength, and I would like to focus more on “career education,” which is my specialty, while building a good team.”
In the summer, our university recommends sports (baseball club) for those who have devoted themselves to baseball during their high school days in the “Comprehensive Selection I, II, and III” entrance examination system for the Faculty of Engineering.
