The Kazakhstan Football Federation announces the appointment of Talgat Baysufinov to the position of head coach of the Kazakhstan national team.
Talgat Baisufinov led the national team for the third time in October 2025. Under his leadership, the national team played a number of matches as part of the qualifying cycle for the 2026 World Cup. In particular, the national team of Kazakhstan defeated Liechtenstein with a score of 4:0, and also played a draw with the teams of North Macedonia (1:1) and Belgium (1:1).
Previously, Talgat Baisufinov twice served as head coach of the national team – in 2016–2017 and 2020–2022.
Talgat Baysufinov worked as a coach in a number of football clubs in Kazakhstan. Over the years, he headed the teams “Esil-Bogatyr” (Petropavlovsk), “Aksu”, “Irtysh” (Pavlodar), “Akzhaiyk” (Uralsk), and also worked with the youth team of Kazakhstan.
As a football player, he defended the colors of the clubs “Irtysh”, “Metallurg”, “Enbek”, “Ekibastuzets”, “Zhetysu” and “Vostok”,” the Federation reports on its Instagram account.
Baysufinov was officially appointed acting on September 30 after the resignation of Kazakh specialist Ali Aliyev. Under his leadership, the national team won one victory (4:0 with Liechtenstein), drew two matches (1:1 with North Macedonia and 1:1 with Belgium) and suffered one defeat (0:1 with the Faroe Islands).
