“This year has been a year of both happy and painful events for me,” she wrote, and posted a photo.
First of all, Yoshida expressed his gratitude for meeting his friends, saying, “I was able to meet my friends from the Koalers. I was happy and happy playing BASKET with my friends. I was itching to play BASKET with everyone as soon as possible lol. Thank you for believing in me and waiting for me. Thank you for meeting my irreplaceable friends.”
Next, about something sad, he confessed that he had been suffering from cancer, saying, “This summer I was diagnosed with cancer and was receiving treatment and recuperation.” Looking back at the moment he was told, “I prepared for death,” he was also overcome with despair, thinking “I might never be able to play basketball again.” He also talked about the confusion and fear he felt after leaving the doctor’s office, the struggle to tell his family, and the support he received from his older sister and parents.
Yoshida says that the team’s waiting for him gave him a ray of hope. After that, he returned to the team after undergoing rehabilitation. In his comeback game, he says, the feeling of “fun” prevailed over tears, and he realized once again the appeal of basketball. Although she struggled until the very end about disclosing her cancer diagnosis, she apparently decided to do so out of a desire to bring courage to those who similarly suffer from illness or injury.
