A summit meeting. Before the clash at the top of the third day of the Champions Cup against Northampton, the Bordeaux-Bègles internationals, Matthieu Jalibert, Louis Bielle-Biarrey and Maxime Lucu met a football legend, Jean-Pierre Papin, to present him with the Champions Cup trophy won last May against Northampton.
The former star striker of the Blues (30 goals in 54 caps) now aged 62 – who played for Marseille, AC Milan and Bayern Munich – came, for his part, with the Ballon d’Or trophy which he won in 1991. For a “special dinner”commented the international opener on his Instagram account.

During this meeting, “LBB” Louis Bielle-Biarrey wore an OM jersey, the former club of “JPP” where he is still an icon. If Jean-Pierre Papin never played with the Girondins de Bordeaux, he joined the Girondin club in 2021 as advisor and then coach of the reserve team (N3). Subsequently, he was coach of the club’s women’s first team.
