Jalan Kayuk will soon usher in a new multi-functional sports and leisure venue, with exclusive venues for different ball sports such as badminton, table tennis, pickleball, indoor football, etc., as well as swimming, hot and cold contrast therapy baths, Pilates and other facilities; whether you are families, teenagers, seniors, leisure sports enthusiasts or athletes, you can find suitable activities and facilities here.

This multi-functional sports and leisure venue is located next to the Thanggam LRT station in Sengkang. It is operated by private operator The Sports Arina (TSA) and is called “TSA@Jalan Kayu”. Currently under construction, some facilities are expected to be opened to residents in three months and fully operational in the second half of the year.

The venue held a media preview event on Monday (January 19). The guest of honor, Jalan Kayu District Councilor Huang Zhiming, said in his speech that this sports venue will not only provide residents in Fernvale and Jalan Kayu with diverse and complete sports facilities, but also fully consider noise control during the design and construction process, striving to minimize the impact on residents’ lives.

“This is more than just a sports venue, but more importantly, a space for residents to come together, stay active and connect. By bringing high-quality facilities into the community, I hope to create opportunities for families, youth and seniors to usher in healthier lifestyles and build closer connections,” said Wong Chi-Ming.

There is a pickleball court in the venue with additional sound insulation and noise reduction functions.

Recently, playing pickleball outdoors has caused controversy due to the loud noise. There will be nine to ten pickleball courts in the TSA@Jalan Kayu stadium. Not only will the floor material and scale meet competition-level standards, the venue will also be soundproofed and noise-reduced to reduce the impact of noise on nearby residents.

It is understood that the total area of ​​the TSA@Jalan Kayu sports venue exceeds 75,800 square feet (approximately 7,042.3 square meters). In addition to the pickleball courts, there will also be two ice baths and a hot and cold contrast therapy bath, 12 to 14 Pilates equipment beds, three paddle courts, 18 table tennis tables, and four badminton courts.

When interviewed, Josephine pointed out that this venue brings together venues and facilities for a variety of sports, making it easier for community residents to get involved in sports. There is also a swimming pool about 25 meters long and 5 meters wide, which is enough to carry out systematic swimming courses.

He said: “There are many young families in this area. The coaches and team of my swimming school will make good use of this venue to provide swimming lessons for children aged 2 to 8 years old.”

In addition, the Lion City Mariners Football School also plans to launch relevant courses for children aged 4 to 12 years old, focusing on leisure and basic training, so that children can fall in love with football and improve their physical fitness, teamwork spirit and self-confidence.

TSA founder Chen Ailiang said that sports should be people’s lifelong pursuit.
