Intars Reshetins: Wife Returns – Santa Update

“I am currently in perimenopause, which did not appear suddenly. This has always been the case for women, but this is the first generation that doesn’t want to accept it,» For Private Life says Zanda Zariņa-Rešetina, the wife of director Intara Rešetina-Peterson.

Having celebrated her 46th birthday this fall, she has written a more than 340-page handbook for women who are in the pre-menopausal stage. Weight gain, insomnia, chronic fatigue, mood swings – this is only a small part of the symptoms that women encounter.

“Usually it happens between the ages of 35 and 45,” says Zanda, who, having trained as a health sports specialist and athletics trainer, has also expanded her knowledge as a nutrition and menopause coach. “At the end of last year, I slowly started to write a book about how a woman can accept the fact of aging – as well as how to live the second half of life with quality. I didn’t set myself deadlines and I didn’t tell anyone that I was writing. Not even the husband. Intars found out about it only in April, when I mentioned it to him insecure,” says Zanda.

Intars, remembering the time when he found out about the future book, says: “Although I was well aware that it would steal my wife for a couple of months, I told her – you should do it. Knowing her work capacity, sense of responsibility, education and perfectionism, I was sure that the book would be great. I am proud of my wife.”

He has looked at the book.

“Some of the symptoms correspond to me as well. We, men, are also getting older, so I hope that someone will write a book about andropause,»

Intars smiles and adds: “I’m happy that my wife has finally returned, because she spent the last months writing.”

Now Zanda doesn’t hide it, the moment she found out: journalist Inga SpriŘe is also writing a book about perimenopause, her stomach hit her heels for a moment. “A false name arose in me, which made me question whether I am sufficiently knowledgeable about the topic, whether anyone needs it at all. I admit that our books will be compared, but they are very different,” concludes Zanda, who was at the presentation of the book written by Inga.
