Ajax Left Back Deal Collapses: Transfer Update

Julio Soler will not come to Ajax this winter. Matteo Moretto reports this. The transfer journalist knows that the Amsterdammers were ‘in advanced negotiations’ with Bournemouth about a rental, but that only a domestic transfer is possible.

As is known, Ajax is eagerly looking for a new left back. Soler, who plays a supporting role at Bournemouth, was one of the candidates to strengthen that position. But it won’t happen, Moretto knows. “Ajax was in advanced negotiations for the player, but at the moment Bournemouth can only loan him to English clubs,” he wrote via social media.

There is currently one English club that is committed to the arrival of the young Argentinian wing defender. That’s Watford. That club will not play in the Premier League this season, but in the Championship. Watford is sixth in the second level in England.

It is clear that Ajax’s search for a new left back is still in full swing. The names of Jorrel Hato and Quilindschy Hartman have now been annulled. The former is not allowed to be rented out from Chelsea, while the latter has personally indicated that he will not come to Amsterdam.

Names of left backs that are still mentioned in relation to Ajax are those of Souffian El Karouani (FC Utrecht), Adam Aznou (Everton) and Ignace Van der Brempt (Como).
