Tamaulipas sports get underway this weekend. The INDE will give the initial whistle to the state processes towards the National Olympiad 2026. Therefore, hundreds of athletes will seek classification in different disciplines through selective competitions.
Venues and sports in action
Activities start with intensity in two key cities. The men’s soccer, judo and table tennis stages will take place in Ciudad Victoria. On the other hand, the tennis discipline will have its main headquarters in the port of Tampico.
Manuel Virués, general director of INDE, highlighted the importance of this event. He stressed that these competencies represent the first vital filter. Furthermore, the objective is to offer athletes an adequate and well-structured competitive environment from the beginning.
Institutional support for athletes
Likewise, the athletes will have the full support of the State Government during this process. The administration of Américo Villarreal, through the Ministry of Social Welfare (Sebien) and the Sports Institute itself, will guarantee the necessary support.
