A first departmental championship

“It’s a first for us,” begins Thomas Kratz, secretary of the Gueugnonnais archers, the club has requested to organize its first U11 and U21 departmental 18-meter shooting championship. Which is held on Sunday January 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Léo-Lagrange room in Gueugnon, where 40 archers are expected.

The club has never organized a departmental championship, because it does not have a referee. “A member is in training but it takes time,” specifies the secretary. For the occasion, two arbitrators from the sector were found.

“Everyone helps organize the championship”, the installation begins at 10 p.m. the day before, with the installation of targets, the layout of the fields, but also the benches, chairs and tables. Members and volunteers also take care of the refreshment bar for this day.
