Gialloblu, an increasingly team, achieve their second consecutive success at home
Heavy victory for Basket Golfo Piombino, catching Casoria and two to zero good direct comparisons. A ranking that now offers a breath of fresh air and which temporarily sees the Gulf outside the playout zone. A team victory in the true sense of the word, a victory made of sweat, effort and a lot of character. It wasn’t easy to win against a team that coach Bianchi, rightly, defined as mangy, the result was a dirty game, 54 fouls committed, many free throws and those low pace, which the Campania team likes so much. In short, winning a match like this, with Casoria’s dominance in rebounds, especially the 18 offensive ones, was no mean feat, Piombino succeeded, leading almost the entire match. There were few negative moments for the gialloblu, one came immediately, with the initial 6-0 in Casoria, with Vjber raging in the Piombino paint. Coach Bianchi immediately calls the timeout and puts things right. Ianuale’s bomb coming out of the timeout and two baskets from Giunta immediately put the yellow-blues back on track. Then, in the final, Menconi comes off the bench and with two of his triples, he makes the break and with Forti’s penetration, we go to the break at 22 to 14. In the second, the Gulf immediately goes to plus 11, with Fabiani and Giunta’s bomb, an advantage that they will find again several times during the partial. Casoria never gets closer than minus 7 and ends up 9 down, at 42 to 33. In the third the guests increase their defensive intensity, only 14 points are conceded and thanks to their defense they manage to get back to minus 4 after 4′, but Piombino doesn’t lose his head and manages to repel all attempts at a comeback. With baskets from Raivio, Carnevale Giunta, Ianuale and Fabiani, he also finds the plus 10, but in the final, with the shots from the line, Casoria gets back to minus 6, at 56 to 50. At the start of the quarter final, the young D’Offizi puts the bomb of minus 3, but the Gulf does not waver and a two plus one from Raivio and the third bomb from Menconi, bring the yellow and blue back to plus 9. Score on who wasted many opportunities to close the game, Berra, from distance, brings his team back to minus 6, but Ammannato and Ianuale repay him with the same coin, for a comforting plus 10 in the middle of the quarter. In the last minutes the Gulf no longer risks anything and takes home the victory, 74 to 66.
