GL Winners & Rookie of the Year Announced Today

The winner of the prize trophy “Dominican Rookie of the Year 2025 of Major League Baseball”will be announced and awarded today in an event to be held starting at 2:30 in the afternoon at the Fratello Restaurant, in Ensanche Naco in Santo Domingo.

Agustín Ramírez, catcher for the Miami Marlins, Jasson Domínguez, outfielder for the Yankees de New York, and Heriberto Hernández, outfielder for the Miami Marlins, are the main nominees to win the award “Dominican Rookie of the Year 2025 in the Major Leagues.”

The award ceremony is being held for the twenty-sixth edition. It is sponsored by Banco BHD, Cerveza Presidente, Ecopetróleo and Pinturas Tropical. The vote is carried out by a panel of Dominican baseball expert journalists from the MLB. Ramírez, Domínguez and Hernández appear as candidates for the trophy award designed by Logomarca, along with 3 other Venezuelan players, who also did an outstanding job in the last season of the Major Leagues.

Among them are Warming Bernabel of the Colorado Rockies, Ronny Mauricio of the New York Mets, and Carlos Vargas of the Seattle Mariners. Among the winners of the Rookie of the Year award, who have received their trophy in the past 25 years, are Rafael Furcal, Albert Pujols, Daniel Cabrera, Ángel Berroa, Willy Taveras, Robinson Canó, Hanley Ramírez, TJ Peña, Edison Vólquez, Neftalí Féliz, Iván Nova, Wilin Rosario, Juan Lagares, Gary Sánchez, Manuel Margot, Fernando Tatis Jr., Wander Franco, Julio Rodríguez, Yainer Díaz, Luis Gil and others.
