At the end of the match between LOSC and Friborg SC, Olivier Giroud spoke to Canal+ in order to debrief the performance.
Winners of Friborg by a goal to zero, the Mastiffs produced a satisfactory performance in the eyes of the Mastiffs scorer:
“We started the match very well, we put them under pressure, we did good pressing, we applied the coach’s instructions. We had to find this solidity, make a clean sheet. Everything wasn’t perfect up front but we tried to be diligent, concentrated and that’s how we have to bounce back, with the basics. And I’m proud of the guys tonight. It wasn’t easy and we did the job until the end even if we could have scored before. We believed in it until the end and we are here. »
Scorer in added time, on a penalty caused by Matias Fernandez-Pardo, Olivier Giroud returned to this sequence: “ I was confident about the penalty but it’s always tricky when you’ve just entered. I am the designated penalty taker so you have to take responsibility. »
